CEO, Vestel Ventures, Executive Board Member, Vestel Group, Chief Innovation Officer, Zorlu Holding
Salt is a board member and CEO of Vestel Ventures, the corporate venture capital firm of Vestel Group who is a major player in consumer electronics and household appliances with multi-billion USD revenue. Salt is executive board member of Vestel Group of Companies, as well. He is concurrently leading innovation program in Zorlu Holding, a conglomerate specialized in textiles, manufacturing, energy and financial services.
Metin Salt, born in 1968, has his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in METU Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, where he worked in The Scientific and Technological Research Council (TUBİTAK) projects. After graduation he joined Aselsan, a military technology firm. He developed crypto systems and coordinated university-industry partnership projects. He, then, conducted studies on the F16 electronic warfare training system in the Turkish Air Force. Between 1997 and 2005, he served in management positions at various companies in Silicon Valley in the USA. In 2005, he founded Vestek, a tech-startup developing video ICs and software under Vestel Group.
He regularly writes technology columns, gives public speeches, and participates in Industry Advisory Boards of some universities. He contributes to several professional associations at board level and served as third term member of Turkey-U.S. business council. Salt has obtained various international patents cited by tech giants.
