Prof. Douglas Proctor
Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement) at Swinburne University
Dr. Douglas Proctor recently returned to Australia to take up the role of Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement) at Swinburne University of Technology. Previously he was Director, UCD Global at University College Dublin, Ireland. A Senior Fellow of the International Education Association of Australia (IEAA), Douglas holds a PhD in international higher education from the University of Melbourne, where his doctoral research investigated the ways in which internationalization has influenced the international dimensions of academic work in Australia. Douglas is also co-editor (with Dr Laura Rumbley) of a 2018 Routledge book entitled “The Future Agenda for Internationalization in Higher Education” offering new perspectives from a younger generation of scholars and practitioners. Currently Chair of the European Association for International Education (EAIE) Publications Committee, Douglas has edited recent EAIE Forum magazines on the topics of Brexit, digitalization, employability, resilience in uncertain times, and mobility in the balance.
